Mary E. Diaz (Bernal) peacefully fell asleep in death in her home in Pueblo West, CO, at the age of 83 on November 26, 2020.
Mary was born on June 29, 1937, in San Luis, CO, to (Jose) Modesto and Delia Bernal.
February 1957, she married Paul Diaz Jr. They raised a daughter, Marianne Logan, and a son, Dale Diaz.
Mary devoted her life to her ministry as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and served in a full-time capacity for the last 42 years. Along with her husband, they enjoyed serving together in the Traveling Circuit Work in Florida, Texas, Kansas, Ohio, California, New Mexico, and Colorado over 26 years.
Mary loved life as she enjoyed sewing, quilting, arts and crafts, canning, and traveling. She especially delighted in socializing with her dear family and friends near and far. She was known for her beautiful voice and often sang along with her daughter, Marianne, and her musician and karaoke friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Jr., her daughter, Marianne, her father, Modesto, her mother, Delia, her brother Joe, her sister Dorothy, and her brother Jesus. She is survived by her son Dale and his wife Laura, her grandchildren, Daniel and Jacob, her great-grandchildren, Gavin and Ronin, also her brother Herman Bernal and his wife Janet, and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
A memorial service was held December 19, 2020, at 1:00 PM MST on Zoom.
